PROGARD 5
Progard 5 at Kennel Supply LLC PROGARD®-5 is a modified live virus vaccine containing attenuated strains of canine distemper virus, adenovirus type 2, parainfluenza virus and parvovirus grown in the PRO-CELL STABLE CELL LINETM. PROGARD®-5 is presented in a desiccated single-dose form with sterile diluent provided for reconstitution. 

The attenuated distemper virus strain used in PROGARD®-5 is the Onderstepoort strain. The parvovirus component is patented* CPV STRAIN 154® which is an attenuated parvovirus strain of canine origin. The unique InterTekTM production process has made it possible to produce PROGARD®-5 with high titered CPV and CDV components which are highly immunogenic.

The Manhattan strain of adenovirus type 2 in PROGARD®-5 confers protection against canine infectious hepatitis caused by CAV-1 as well as infectious tracheobronchitis caused by CAV-2. Use of the Manhattan strain of CAV-2 provides dual protection without the adverse reactions associated with CAV-1, such as corneal edema ("blue eye").
